Science - It's a party!

**
At 7:00 a.m. I woke up with a messy house, the knowledge that 7 little girls would be arriving at our house at 2:00 p.m. for Rachel's science party - and absolutely no plan. No plan - just a theme.

OK - time to get moving. Dave and I gulped down some coffee, made our lists and shifted into gear. Several hours and one clean house later....,

Summer is in Full Swing

**

Summer in Southern California! There is nothing like it. (The same is true of January in So. Cal. too, but let's stay focused.)

The girls are in swim lessons

Alex is just now learning to ride without training wheels

And vacation time has arrived - The first was Grandpa's Birthday Bash in Tuscon. (click the "x" in the upper right hand corner of the slide show window below if photos aren't showing)

Halloween at the Hart House

**
This year we had two witches

and Sheriff Dave, with Alex as Jessie AND Bullseye from the Toy Story movie.

VERY cute and not a princess in the bunch!

**

Halloween at the Hart House is a month-long affair,
complete with a visit to the pumpkin patch

Baking and decorating Halloween cookies
(OK - Mostly eating the decorations)

Carving and painting pumpkins
Decorating the house (inside & out) and lighting the Jack-O-Lanterns

Trick-or-treating

And the annual Hart Halloween Bash!
Postponed a week due to the fires and lingering air quality issues caused by all the smoke - but a great time was had by all!!

It really was GREAT fun! (And just a bit tiring too.)

Crazy Days & Parties

Picture this...,

10 kids all under the age of 4 decorating white paper 'cookie bags' with paint, glue-on pom-poms, and stickers...,

(Noelle, Grammy, Chris and Mike helping the little artists with the work in progress)

(Rachel, one of the proud little artists)

(With Grammy's help, Rachel's was a 2-sided project)

(The artists' completed works)

... making and decorating cookies with six different colors of frosting and a crazy array of sprinkles and colored sugars...,

(Mommy and Alex mixin' up the dough)

(Daddy cuttin' out cookies & the kids frosting & sprinkling)

(Beautiful)

... pizza and yummy 'Zoo Cake'...,

... all in one very small house.

Makes for crazy days and happy birthday parties.

(OK - Not sure why Rachel decided today was the day to dress up like a bumble bee - but there she is. BZZZZ)

Halloween is for kids

and this one was perfect. Alex and Rachel really understood the concept this year and were excited about dressing up and seeing all their friends dress up.

We decided that - instead of big birthday parties and all the associated issues we will host an annual Halloween Party. And this was the 1st Annual - it was great...., 17 kids, 24 adults, a bouncy, halloween bags to decorate, pumpkins to paint, games to play, face painting and a Pinata!
